Sunday School & The Gospel Project Chronological

Sundays at 9:30 AM in the Basement of Education Center

The Gospel Project for Students helps teens develop a bigger perspective on Scripture and how the story of Jesus Christ ties it all together. Every week, in every passage, students encounter the gospel through the in-depth study of biblical theology, apologetics, missions, and the grand narrative of Scripture.

HG Students Worship Teams

Sundays at 3 PM

HG Students Worship Ministry is a student led team which uses music, art, drama, technical production and dance to share the Gospel. All 6th–12th graders are invited to join. Activities include quarterly visits to Alexander’s Youth Network, Charlotte Rescue Mission, Little Flower Assisted Living and Florence Crittenton as well as the student mission trip during spring break. HG Worship Student Band

Sundays at 3 PM

Our worship band is made up entirely of students. Practices are held on Sunday afternoons. For more information, contact the Student Ministry Offices at 704-531-4023.

The Refinery

One Sunday a month from 4–5:30 PM (September–April)

The Refinery is an intense discipleship program for middle and high school students. The goal of The Refinery is to train up a generation of students that have strong spiritual disciplines, good theology, with an ability to share their faith in different contexts. This is accomplished through monthly reading assignments, scripture memory, historical biographies, and evangelism. Signups for The Refinery take place every September. Click here to learn more. Wednesday Night Worship

Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in Basement of Education Center

Every Wednesday night, 6th–12th grade students combine for a collective time of worship and teaching. Every week, we tackle a different topic that challenges us to grow deeper in our faith and readies us to defend our beliefs through the power and knowledge of Scripture.

Wednesday Nights: Student Worship

Each Wednesday evening, middle and high school students gather for worship, bible teaching, and round table discussion in the Event Center from 6:30–7:30 PM. Come early from 6–6:30 PM to The Loft for a meal and connect with other students. This fall, our emphasis will be Doctrine: Answering Questions on Core Truths of the Christian Faith”.

HG Students Equip

Sundays at 5 PM (September–April)

HG Students Equip will equip our students with a strong biblical worldview and theological framework in order to Live Sent. HG Students Equip is an incredible opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of the Bible, Christianity, and its impact in our world. In a small group setting, students will learn about God’s Word in a fun and challenging way. REGISTER NOW

Student Worship & Tech Teams

6th–12th graders who attend Hickory Grove and participate regularly in the Student Ministry are invited to serve on one of our worship or tech teams. The band, vocalists, and tech team lead with our Student Ministry on Wednesdays and Sundays.

DNOW

March 16–18, 2018

At Disciple Now, students are adopted by a Hickory Grove family for the weekend. They stay in host homes with their friends and attend a conference at the church which includes a guest biblical teacher and worship. Students enjoy a time of small group Bible study and getting closer to God within their host homes.

Camp Paradise

July 17–21, 2018

Camp Paradise is our 5-day summer camp that impacts students both spiritually and physically. Students are engaged in biblical teaching and Christ centered worship, along with time spent with their small group in Bible study. Students also enjoy swimming, tubing, “The Blob”, wakeboarding, “The Wall”, the high ropes course and other land recreation.

Operation Charlotte

August 2018

Operation Charlotte is a three-day event where students are mobilized under the banner of “Living Sent.” The goal is to reach out to the surrounding community by meeting their needs in tangible ways through an array of service projects with the intent of sharing the Gospel with those they come into contact.
